Sir; Thank you for publicising the ANMW's latest double running figures (The Grocer, November 25, p26). However, I fear the gremlins struck The total number of wholesaler vans rerun for daily newspapers during September was 7,132, not 27,132 as you stated. This figure for September 2000 represents a significant improvement in the level of double runs and comes at a time of year when they are traditionally on the increase. Indeed, in September 1999 some 15,093 wholesale vans were rerun as a result of publisher lateness. Late deliveries are bad news for all newstrade sectors but heaven help us if the number of reruns ever rose above the 20,000 mark!
