Sales of packaged food have boosted ConAgra's group profits by 14%. Chairman Bruce Rohde said its presence in the foodservice sector had helped increase the figures. Half of ConAgra's $20bn annual food sales fall into that sector. Operating profits for packaged foods were up 9% to $290.3m, with sales increasing 1% to $1.92bn. Brands include Wesson oil and Swiss Miss hot chocolate. Fresh foods showed even stronger growth, with sales up 8% to $3.05bn and operating profits up 32% to $110.4m. The company is in the midst of a restructuring process  dubbed Operation Overdrive  which has led to the closure of plants, merger of operations and job losses. {{NEWS }}
