The success of cut-price women's glossy Glamour is hitting its rivals. The National Magazine Company is to cut the cover price of its women's monthly title Company to match the cover price of Glamour, the Condé Nast handbag-size title. From the November issue, Company will sell for £1.50 on the news stands rather than £2.60. National Magazine Company deputy managing director said: "We are facing intense competition from new entrants to the market which have chosen to come in at an astonishingly low price. To protect our position, we have no option but to drop the price. As publishers committed to excellence it is not something we undertake lightly, but we are at the centre of a price war." Company publishing director Justine Southall said: "The change will give us a unique position  a full size women's glossy but at £1.50." Company is the ultimate magazine for women in their freedom years. We will continue to be a very strong brand in the market. {{CTN }}
