Kraft Foods is adding Imagine, a pink and gold handbag-shaped pack of praline wafer chocolates, to its Terry's All Gold boxed chocolate brand. On shelf at the end of August, the newcomer (rsp: £3.49, 20 chocolates) leads out the company's 2002 Christmas range which will be supported by more than £7m. Positioned as a stylish female gift, Imagine accounts for £2m of the media budget with autumn TV and press ads. Another £3m is earmarked for the Chocolate Orange range  including £1.2m for Mini Segments  with new ads featuring brand ambassador Dawn French, while 3D Toblerone posters featuring the brand's trademark triangular shape take £2m. Other highlights include new Christmas packs for All Gold, Toblerone and Dime. Doug McGowan, Kraft's trading controller, said Christmas confectionery sales were buoyant despite flagging consumer interest in impulse confectionery. {{P&P }}
