Aberness retail director Graeme Hay has been promoted to operations director. The move is part of company efforts to restructure itself around VoiteQ  a new IT system designed to improve supply chain efficiency and category management. A newly formed commercial team will be headed by distribution controller Ronald MacDonald, and John Macleod becomes supply chain controller in charge of the new supply chain department. Hay said: "I am responsible for overseeing Aberness' operations functions, including the commercial team, warehouse distribution and retail. "While I concentrate on the day-to-day running of the company, Stanley Morrice will focus on business functions and strategic direction." Hay began his career in William Low Supermarkets before joining Watson and Philip in 1986 as retail operations adviser (Spar account). He became trading and marketing manager (Spar/VG) before being appointed trading manager at CJ Lang for the Spar and cash and carry sector in 1992. In 1994, he established and managed two independent Mace stores in Scotland. He became Aberness retail director in 1999. {{PEOPLE MOVES }}
