The hunt is on for a new boss for the Fresh Produce Consortium following the news that chief executive Doug Henderson is to step down after 10 years with the organisation.

President Dick Brighten said they were looking for a replacement to take the consortium forward and hoped to recruit somebody in the next three months.

He said: “This is very sad news. Doug will remain in a consultancy capacity to ease the transition. We have no pre-conceived idea of who the replacement should be, but Doug is going to be extremely difficult to replace.”
