This year's top award for achievement in the British pig industry has been claimed by new MLC commissioner and pig producer Stewart Houston.
The David Black Award is given for sustained and outstanding contibution to the industry, and was decided by an independent committee chaired by British Pig Executive manager Mick Sloyan.
Houston was one of a shortlist of nine and he joins an illustrious list of previous winners who include former BPEX chairman Richard Campbell and Dr Jane Guise. He said: "I'm honoured to have received this award. It's a nonsense to say I've achieved everything myself. It's been done with a huge amount of help, support and guidance."
