Lion Confectionery has strengthened its senior production team with the appointment of Tony Hodge to the newly created post of logistics controller.
He will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials and planning production of Lion’s weigh-out and prepacked product range.
Hodge was previously a shift factory manager at Hibernia Chilled Foods, which went into receivership in October (The Grocer, Nov 1, p12).
He has extensive experience in food production, having worked in the sector for Padleys Poultry and Dairy Crest.
He said: “It’s been a challenge moving from chilled to ambient and switching from products with a short shelf life to sugar confectionery, which has a long shelf life.”
