WKD owner Beverage Brands has appointed Mark Hopper as head of innovation and development.

Hopper joins from SHS Sales & Marketing, where he was commercial controller for alcohol brands with responsibility across all trade channels. He also spent six years at S&N where he was commercial controller for alcohol brands.

In his new role, he will be responsible for both brand and new product development across the whole portfolio, including WKD, Woody's, Merrydown and Shloer, reporting to joint MD Karen Salters.

"Mark's appointment underlines our commitment to pursuing a proactive brand development programme," said Salters. "His depth of knowledge will enable him to take a holistic approach."

Beverage Brands reported a strong Christmas for WKD, with sales up 12.5% by volume in December year-on-year.
