Inter Link Foods chairman Alwin Thompson said: “We have secured some new plant and machinery to make puddings and over the next few months our NPD teams will be working on a range of hot puddings and desserts.”
The company plans to have a range of Christmas puddings ready for the 2007 season, which would complement its status as key supplier of own label mince pies.
Chief executive Paul Griffiths said: “This is a growing market as there is renewed interest in hot puddings. The team at our Soreen business will be managing the development.”
Thompson also revealed that Inter Link would be interested in acquiring existing puddings companies. In its interim results last month, Inter Link reported sales up 52% to £67.2m and pre-tax profit up 26% to £2.6m in the six months to November 5, 2005.
