NFU president Ben Gill has slammed the Country Landowners' Association for its "highly insensitive" decision to stage a French village' at the Game Fair at Blenheim Palace this weekend. Gill said: "With UK agriculture in crisis and our dairy industry on its knees, we question the wisdom of the CLA in promoting hundreds of French cheeses at the expense of home production." However, a CLA spokeswoman said her organisation "would not do anything that would impact on British farmers. The fair is not a French market. It's mainly about hunting horns and gunsmith suppliers. And, after all, the French Game Fair used Britain as its theme." {{NEWS }}
