UK sales of Fairtrade products rose 40% year-on-year to £195m in 2005, according to the Fairtrade Labelling Organisation. Worldwide sales of Fairtrade rose 37% to £760m.
Forecourt operator Total has launched a road safety campaign aimed at cutting accidents involving children. The drive will involve forecourt safety checks of child car seats.

Tesco is targeting the business market for the first time with the launch of a credit card aimed at the UK's 2.5 million sole traders. The business card goes live on 5 July, with the intention of "making life simpler to separate personal and business spending".
