Though the top two in the category chart remain unchanged from last week, alcoholic drinks at number one stretches even further ahead to more than 12 percentage points clear of soft drinks at number two.
The success of the category continues despite having no supporting brands in the brand chart. However, there are several brands just missing out on a top 10 position - Baileys, Smirnoff, Hardys, Kumala and Carlsberg are a few of the top brands boosting the alcoholic drinks category. Soft drinks is offered support by Coca-Cola and Shloer, at numbers 7 and 10 in the brand chart, with further activity from Schweppes, Pepsi and Robinsons. There are a number of promotions on mixers aimed at the Christmas market.
Frozen and health and beauty both return to the category chart at numbers three and four respectively. Activity in frozen features a number of offers on party food, which clearly helps the category this week, with buy-one-get-one-free offers and multibuy promotions dominating.
