The Independent newspaper will be the first broadsheet to use a double gatefold advertising format. The eight-page broadsheet double gatefold is positioned in today's (Saturday) Independent as an extra section called Design Velocity. When opened it reveals a poster size, quadruple page spread advertisement for Renault's Vel Satis and Avantime, making it the largest advertising site ever seen in a national newspaper, according to the Independent. The gatefold has been supported by a seven-day campaign in The Independent and The Independent on Sunday and copies of the section have been distributed to all Renault dealerships. The four remaining editorial pages look at the future of design, from architecture and fashion to technology and interiors. {{CTN }}
