Irish bakery group McCambridge's takeover of Inter Link Foods looks to be back on track after the two companies finally agreed on the terms of a confidentiality agreement this week.

The agreement prompted Inter Link's shares to rise 10% on Wednesday, giving the cake manufacturer a market capitalisation of £13.9m.

Inter Link's previous refusal to grant access to its bankers had been frustrating McCambridge.

Inter Link chairman Jeremy Hamer defended the delay in access, explaining that McCambridge was "a competitor or potential competitor".
