Inter Link Foods has announced it has acquired a Polish cookie and cake company for £700,000.

Cukiernia Mistrza Jana (CMJ), the producer of small quality cakes and cookies, made a pre-tax profit of £184,000 in 2004, on a turnover of £3.7m.

The Polish company supplied major multiple retailers and wholesalers throughout Europe but mainly in Poland and East European countries.

Alan Rthompson, executive chairman of Inter Link Foods said: “The acquisition of CMJ is a very exciting first move for Inter Link Foods into Europe and complements out ambition to be the number two cake supplier in the UK.”
