The true cost to Interbrew of the UK government's block on its takeover of Bass could be £770m. The Belgian brewer's results this week revealed it was writing off the sum to cover the costs of the stalled bid. However, it could recover the money if a judicial review in the High Court goes its way. This week the court gave the go ahead for the case to be heard. No date has been set for the hearing. Interbrew spokesman Corneel Maes said he expected the hearing to take place in May or June and a decision to be made in July. {{NEWS }}
