Cranberry brand Ocean Spray is expanding into a category that has seen little innovation in the last few years: the £7.6m mincemeat market. It is bringing out Cranberry Mince Pie Luxury Filling in time for the crucial September to Christmas period ­ when 60% of mincemeat sales take place. The company said the new filling ­ with apples, brandy and nutmeg as well as cranberries ­ is smoother and less greasy than traditional mincemeat.
