Jamaican rum producer J Wray and Nephew is targeting the UK and Europe as the next major growth areas for its rum portfolio. Its Appleton range has gone down well in the niche ethnic Jamaican market but it is now becoming a brand of choice in the upmarket on-trade. To move it into the mainstream market investment is being put behind the brand. The company is talking to the multiples and European manager Peter Martin said: "We have money to spend if we can get the listings."
