Name: Tom Shipsey Position: Chief executive officer Company: Stonehouse The job: The merger of AND- Keencost and National Wholesale Grocery Alliance has formed one of the Republic of Ireland's largest wholesale groups with buying power of £500m. When the 11 strong board meets again at the end of the month, Shipsey will want to discuss strategy. The merger "should have happened years ago," he says. In the short term, the new group has to decide what to do with its brands. With a C&C in every town, Stonehouse is up against more centralised players. Broad hints were dropped to The Grocer that the new group is big enough to take on chilled and frozen business. And with foodservice operations, Shipsey would like to offer hotel chains a national price for all their needs. The background: Former chief executive of National Wholesale, Shipsey earlier worked for AND- Keencost for three years. {{PEOPLE MOVES }}
