Food retailers look set for an employment boom this year according to research conducted by recruitment consultants Retail Human Resources. RHR's Retail Employment Trend Survey of HR personnel from 52 top retailers included responses from CWS, Safeway, Sainsbury, Somerfield, Tesco and Waitrose. Asda did not respond. RHR is forecasting an extra 33,700 full-time jobs among food retailers in 2002. The company claimed this represented 8.3% employment growth  greater than the sector average. The retail sector as a whole looks set to create more than 75,000 jobs, including nearly 45,000 full-time positions. RHR consultant Peter Burgess said the employment boom would force retail HR managers to headhunt people from outside the industry and to recruit older workers. {{NEWS }}
