Independent retail trade associations from the UK and Ireland are holding preliminary meetings as they prepare to set up a joint trade forum. Representatives from the Association of Convenience Stores, the Scottish Grocers' Federation, and the Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association plan to join forces to establish best practice on issues which affect all convenience operators. Republic of Ireland association RGDATA will also join the forum, which is due to launch officially in September. The associations plan to establish best practice and press the government to speed up consultation in areas such as bootlegging, post offices, Sunday opening and packaging waste regulations. {{NEWS }}
