Good results were recorded for Kerry Group in the first half of 2004 across all its core businesses with sales results showing an increase of 8.5% to E1,955m.

Total Group turnover in the first six months of 2004 grew to E1,955, reflecting an increase of 8.5% on the same period in 2003. Acquisitions during the second quarter of 2004 contributed to E73m of this.

Sales originating from Ireland based operations grew to E670m from E656m in 2003. Operating profit increased to E32.2m from E31.6m in the first half of 2003.

European operations excluding Ireland increased sales by 11.6% toE694m and increased operating profits by 10.9% to E52.4m.

Chief executive Hugh Friel said: “In a very busy period, the Group again delivered excellent results throughout its operations, while also building important platforms for future growth and development.

“Kerry’s consistent strategy and capability to meet consumer lifestyle, convenience, health and nutritional requirements again delivered good sales growth and further margin progression.”
