Bass is upping the stakes on ale and offering drinkers a chance to win tickets to the Worthington Cup Final and to grab a £1m pot of gold. The brand is sponsoring the league cup final  in February  for the third year. Selected eight and 12 packs of Worthington will contain a golden ticket allowing consumers either to claim £1 off the next purchase or the chance to win two tickets to the final. There they will take part in an elimination penalty shoot out and could go on to win £1m. Sales director John Holberry said: "This is part of a £12m marketing budget for Worthington this year and next which is aiming to make the brand the consumer preferred mainstream ale. "This promotion will generate media exposure around the Worthington Cup which is in its third year of sponsorship." The promotional device has also been used by Carlsberg-Tetley. {{DRINKS }}
