Nestle UK has announced the appointment of Greg Krol as managing director of its chilled dairy business unit.
The division was part of Nestle Europe's food operations, but has now been structured as a separate, dedicated business.
Krol, formerly unit general manager, said he wanted to exploit the potential of newly acquired Eden Vale brands Ski and Munch Bunch to develop the UK market for chilled dairy.
"There is some potential to bring European innovations into added-value and children's products," he explained.
Krol aims to make Nestlé •K a clear challenger in the chilled dairy category and to establish the company as a chilled dairy specialist.
Before joining Nestl頕K, Krol was md of Nestl預oland's chilled dairy division, which he joined in 2001 after being employed as managing director of Polish ice cream business Zielona Budka from 1998.
Before that he was managing director of the chilled dairy division of Danone, Austria, from 1995, managing brands such as Actimel and Petit Danone.
