Representatives of an egg assurance scheme for independent producers have reported positive feedback after exhibiting at the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health annual conference.
According to Laid in Britain secretary David Spackman, environmental health officers showed interest in the objectives and operation of the scheme for members of the UK Egg Producers Association (UKEP).
“This is a group of smaller to medium-sized egg producers, who are responsible for their own marketing on a local or regional basis,” he said. “The independently monitored assurance scheme offers the highest-quality eggs produced to exacting conditions that members must adhere to.”
