The rollout of the chip-and-PIN security system has experienced further setbacks, according to newspaper reports.
A technological error has left 7,500 Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank customers unable to use their cards after incorrect security numbers were distributed.
The launch of the chip-and-PIN system involves upgrading more than 42 million credit and debit cardholders, and so far 17 million chip-enabled cards have been distributed.
