The Grocer Top 50 independent chain Leathley’s Quality Fare has enrolled its entire workforce onto a programme to increase productivity and boost staff morale and retention.

Leathley’s has placed all 540 employees, across 19 stores throughout the North East, on the Nisa-Today’s Lifelong Learning programme provided by training specialist Belmont House.

The modular package through in-house training, offers staff the chance to gain basic certificates to NVQ’s in areas such as health and safety, store security, food hygiene and customer service.

Commercial director at Nisa-Today’s, John Heagney, said: “Leathley’s commitment to workplace training and basic skills will prove to be a sound investment in the company’s success.”
