Adrian Lecky, owner of Lecky's Vivoxtra in Castlederg, Northern Ireland, has won the accolade of Convenience Retailer of the Year at this year's Convenience Retail Awards, organised by Convenience Store magazine in association with The Grocer.
Lecky also walked away with the Best Large Store award at a glittering ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London last week. The awards were presented by Sky News presenter Dermot Murnaghan.
Lecky, who has been retailing in Castlederg for 30 years, invested three years ago in a new and larger store with a quality product range, luxury fixtures and fittings, and a focus on fresh foods.
Other winners included Bimal and Alpesh Patel, who won the Best Independent Symbol award for their Londis store in Finsbury Park, London. Geoff Garrad, from Tates Spar in Aberystwyth, walked away with Best Multiple Store, while Holborn's in South Nutfield, Surrey, won Best Unaffiliated Independent Store.
