Electronic screens broadcasting rolling bulletins to retailers' news display units can drive double-digit increases in sales, claims the company behind the new technology.
Dailys UK, which developed the messaging concept, has struck deals with major regional papers including the Manchester Evening News, the Birmingham Post and the Coventry Evening Telegraph to install the LED units at news stands in more than 500 stores, from CTNs to the multiples.
Dailys marketing director Craig Lewis said: "Clients have seen sales rises from 6% to 20%. The units are simple, bright, and they change every day."
Dailys is now in talks with national newspaper publishers about the units, which also improve availability by monitoring stock levels through a sensor in the sales stand.
