Confectionery company Lees Foods' full-year pre-tax profit to December 31 rose 21% to £613,916, on sales up 5% at £13.4m.

Raymond Miquel, chairman and managing director of Lees Foods, said: “These figures are satisfactory considering the extremely competitive nature of our market and the substantial cost increases which we have had to absorb.”

He added that the company was actively looking at possible acquisitions and had several possibilities to date.
