Canada's largest c-store company Alimentation Couche-Tard looks set to acquire US c-store chain Dairy Mart Convenience Stores after its $80m bid for the company was "retained" following the bid deadline. There were no other bidders, according to Dairy Mart. Dairy Mart, a regional convenience retailing chain with about 450 stores in Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Indiana, filed for bankruptcy protection last September. According to Dairy Mart, Couche-Tard requires a number of regulatory approvals before it seeks permission from the bankruptcy court to make the acquisition, probably sometime next month. {{NEWS }}
