Extended shelf life products are helping to drive growth in the egg products market according to the British Egg Products Association.

Sales of ESL products to the foodservice sector has increased 10% year on year, said Ian Jones, vice-chairman of BEPA. “The innovation of ESL has extended the life of liquid egg from one week to four, minimising wastage and offering excellent value for money.”

Another area seeing growth is cooked and uncooked ready-to-use scrambled egg, he said.
