Lottery operator Camelot is expected to submit its bid for the third lottery licence today.

Camelot is widely tipped to win the contract, with competition expected from Indian lottery operator Sugal & Damani and Greek operator Intralot.

The preferred bidder will be announced in June and the licence will be granted from the start of 2009 for a 10-year term.

“We want to make sure that the lottery is simpler and more convenient for players and retailers. As we enter our bid for the next lottery licence, retailers can be assured that they, and the service they offer players, are at the heart of our plans,” said Steve Lucas, sales director for Camelot.
