A French brand of healthy children's lunchbox products has crossed the Channel in response to growing childhood obesity in the UK.

Asda and Tesco are the first to stock kids brand Kalibio, launched in France three years ago and which is organic and nutritionally balanced. The company said the launch addressed Jamie Oliver's tirade about children's food in UK schools.

Products in the range include juices with added vitamin C, 100% fruit smoothies, cereal bars that contain rice, oats and wheat and use wheat syrup as a sweetener, and cereal biscuits that are made with wholewheat, spelt, oats, rice and barley.
