The latest sports drink to hit the grocery trade is hyposport from a company called Performance Strategies (Sport). Hyposport is based on a hypotonic formula (which claims to give speedy rehydration and energy) that has been developed by former Olympic runner Steve Scutt and sports nutritionist Dr Wootton. It comes in orange & pineapple and lemon & lime flavours (rsp £1.25 for 500ml). The drink has already been on sale in the sports trade and the company plans to step up distribution in the multiples and convenience outlets. Scutt said: "Hyposport has long been the official performance enhancing drink of British sports teams. "But we believe it should no longer be exclusive to sporting professionals ­ and that it will have enormous consumer appeal on the high street." {{P&P }}
