Speciality food distributor John Lusty is in advanced talks with US sales and marketing firm Crossmark, "which may lead to an offer for the business". The company said its financial position had been "seriously affected by a rapid downturn in sales coupled with a continuing squeeze on margins". MD Derek Wilson said: "This could be an exciting development for the company and for our customers and suppliers as well." Crossmark chief communications officer Jeff Rice said a deal with John Lusty would serve as an entry vehicle into the UK market for Crossmark, which is keen to expand internationally. One of the leading sales and marketing companies in the consumer packaged goods industry, Crossmark operates in the US, Canada, New Zealand and Hong Kong. {{NEWS }}
