Luxury chocolate company Hotel Chocolat has plans for rapid expansion next year as the popularity of its products grows.
The company, which started out as an online retailer more than 10 years ago, intends to open between 20 and 30 stores across the UK next year, more than trebling its current store portfolio.
Hotel Chocolat has just opened its fourth retail store on London’s Montpelier Street and intends to have increased this number to seven by the end of the year with new stores opening in Cambridge, Kensington and St Albans. The company opened its first store in Watford’s Harlequin Centre in 2004, followed by openings in shopping malls in Milton Keynes and Norwich. However, Montpelier Street is its first high street shop.
Hotel Chocolat has extended its products range as part of its expansion activity, with new launches for Christmas including gift boxes, boxed and mini slabs of chocolates. It has also launched three chocolate baton boxes with cocoa sourced from its recently bought plantation in St Lucia as part of its commitment to ethical sourcing.
