Young’s has acquired Macrae Food Group, supplier of ready-to-eat seafood products, with a turnover of £80m.
Mike Parker, Young’s deputy chief executive, will take on a new role as chairman of the Macrae Group while Young’s chief executive Wynne Griffiths will remain in his present role.
Parker said: “Macrae is highly successful and the products are a perfect fit with the Young’s portfolio.”
Macrae will continue to operate within its existing structure, incorporating Macrae, Strathaird Salmon and The Salmon Poachers, led by chief executive Cameron Brown.
