November 2001 showed an estimated £124m retail sales value for magazines on the news stands, according to Seymour's Monthly Monitor. Year on year, the 12-month moving average was £136m, showing a drop for the first time since such comparisons have been possible, said Seymour. The three-month moving average fell 3.9% in November compared with 3.7% the previous month, and is the fourth consecutive month it has dropped. November's volume sales figure showed the best four-week month since May with more than 110 million units sold. However, the average cover price paid per copy fell to £1.35, the lowest since May 2001. In terms of market share, WHS Travel's share has dropped to 4.6% for November, from around 5.5% before the New York terrorist attack on September 11, and is at its lowest since January 2001. {{CTN }}
