The rollout of branded goods into M&S food stores is close to completion.

The retailer announced plans to introduce brands into its food stores in November last year following a successful 16-month trial in the north east and south east of England.

The rollout of 400 lines to each M&S store is understood to have been completed in England. A spokesman confirmed there were "a few more weeks to go".

Stocking brands had driven an increase in the average number of items bought during each visit, M&S has said.
