IPC's Marie Claire Health and Beauty is returning to a bi-monthly frequency in a bid to ride out what the publisher IPC calls the "hugely-competitive activity being experienced within the fashion and beauty sector". Marie Claire Health & Beauty, which has recently been drawn into the huge covermounting activity in this sector, went monthly a year ago when the magazine was relaunched. The switch follows the recent announcement that Attic Futura will suspend its health & beauty title Shine after the August issue. IPC publishing director Rita Lewis said the decision was purely a commercial one: "We are fully committed to this sector, and in the ongoing development of the Marie Claire Health & Beauty brand. "However, despite doubling our ad revenues and significantly increasing our share of both advertising and circulation volumes, we have still not been able to generate enough ad revenue to sustain monthly frequency. "We are therefore returning to bi-monthly status for the time being." {{CTN }}
