The UK marketing and distribution of Bols liqueurs is switching from Allied Domecq to Maxxium UK. This follows the purchase of the Bols company by Rémy Cointreau last September. Rémy is partner in Maxxium, a worldwide distribution operation it co-owns with Jim Beam Brands, Highland Distillers and Vin and Sprit. Allied Domecq has handled the brand since 1988. MD Chris Heath said: "The transfer of agency brands between distributors is a normal business occurrence, particularly in the current climate of business consolidation, and the Bols move is something for which we are well prepared." At Maxxium UK, Bols will be handled by business development director Huw Pennell, who will be announcing marketing plans for the brand in the autumn. UK distribution of other brands owned by Bols Royal Distilleries, including Metaxa and the German brandy Asbach Uralt, remains unchanged. {{DRINKS }}
