David Hopper is retiring as managing director from Farmhouse Bakery Holdings, part of Interlink foods.

After thirty-one years in the business, Hopper has decided to retire to spend more time with his family and pursuing his hobbies of travelling, singing and cycling.

Farmhouse Bakery Holdings supplied cakes to supermarkets, independent retailers, food services and the catering industry.

The company, which has been in the Hopper family for six generations was bought by Inter Link Foods last year for £5m.

Prior to the acquisition of the Kent-based company, which sold 35m mince pies a year, Inter Link stated it aimed to boost the company’s annual sales to £100m to become Britain’s second biggest cake maker after RHM’s Mr Kipling.
