Pernod Ricard UK is restructuring its commercial operations with the merger of specialist/convenience and grocery departments into one off-trade division.

Commercial director Simon Thomas said the changes reflected the fact that the lines between multiple supermarkets and convenience store operators were blurring because the major multiples were becoming much more involved in the c-store sector.

Dominic Mearing, previously UK sales director for Moët Hennessey, will lead the division as off-trade channel director. Other changes include Richard Brooks moving from business group director for grocery to business unit director for Tesco and Somerfield.

Neil Phillips, senior national account manager for Sainsbury, becomes business unit director for Sainsbury and Waitrose.

Mark Goode has been promoted to business unit director for Asda, Morrisons and Safeway. Gary Howard becomes business unit director for CRTG and First Quench and Mike Biltcliffe is senior national account manager for specialist and convenience retailers.
