The Grocer Top 50 member Mills Group has set up a subsidiary company to sell specialist magazines on the internet.
The establishment of Unique Magazines as a public limited company follows the success of uniquemagazines.co.uk, the website Mills Group set up to promote niche publications. Mills Group has invested £30,000 in the site to add features such as online payment facilities.
Commercial director John Porrett has also become MD of Unique Magazines. He said it earned 15% net commission on every sale the website made, adding: “We are projecting £292,000 of sales in 2004.”
