The future shape and direction of the Meat and Livestock Commission was being discussed as The Grocer went to press on Thursday. In the wake of devolution by the industry in Scotland and Wales, the MLC has been consulting on proposals on how best to meet the needs of English levy payers. It is proposing new organisations be formed to look after lamb, beef and pigmeat in England, with an overaching GB role for the MLC. Consultation ended on June 10, and Commissioners were finalising their response to that process on Thursday. l Full details of the review will be available in next week's issue of The Grocer. {{NEWS }}
