Morrisons is to feature – as one of 12 companies – in a national advertising campaign by the Carbon Trust.

The retailer is the only supermarket to have achieved the Carbon Trust Standard for its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

“We hope that the work by The Carbon Trust to promote our success encourages other retailers to follow our lead,” said Caroline Faulkner, Morrisons’ CSR manager. “This is recognition of the very real strides Morrisons has made in reducing our carbon footprint in recent years, but we’re not complacent.

“We will maintain our focus on this and carry on helping our colleagues and our customers at all our locations across the UK to continue to drive down our carbon footprint and energy wastage.”

The trust’s general manager Harry Morrison said he was delighted to have Morrisons involved in the campaign.
