The unlikely name of Moy Park will be splashed across football fans’ TV screens this summer after Brazilian parent Marfrig secured a World Cup sponsorship deal.

The Northern Irish chicken producer’s name will flash up on pitchside ad screens during matches involving England, France and the Netherlands.

Marfrig signed a deal to be a sponsor at both this year’s tournament and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, with sister company Seara also securing a deal.

“We want more people to know about what we do and the World Cup sponsorship will put Moy Park’s name in front of millions of people around the world,” said chief executive Nigel Dunlop.

“We hope this will not just increase their awareness of us, but grow sales for our partners.”
