MPs from across the political divide look set to call for legislation to curb the growing power of the UK’s supermarkets.

Unless action is taken the traditional corner shop could be a thing of the past as early as 2015. This is the theme of a leaked report from the All Party Parliamentary Small Shops Group.

The group is due to publish its final report at the end of the month and is likely to fuel calls for a fresh Competition Commission inquiry into supermarket practices.
